Dear Fam.
We were released from serving in the Temple on Wed. I had no idea it would be so hard...After 5 years ..When I would go to the temple and walk thru the doors I would feel like I was 'home'..I served in tears the last two days knowing I won't be in a temple for two years...and realizing how much the people of the Adriatic mission were missing. There are only 35 missionaries there and only branches.
As I thought of the temple I thought of how our wise Bishop 20 + years ago (Bishop Evan Olsen) said that if parents of missionaries would attend the temple once a week their missionary would be blessed......so I took that to heart.....thru 8 missionaries......and then when I realized I needed even more blessings I was going twice a week... once for initiatory.....Then I was called to serve as an ordinance worker 2 days a week..and you all know how I whined because of the time commitment....
Well it has been the very best thing I have EVER done........ well.......still needing more blessings I started to substitute in addition to my own shifts... probably every week since August.....it has been such a blessing......I loved running to Ogden when our temple was closed...(except for this last January)...
Yes....your names and my grandchildren's names have been on the prayer roles of the temple for FOREVER ! ! !
I know that sacrifice brings forth the blessings of Heaven.....I am asking all of you if you can for the next 23 months attend the temple and keep our names there and keep the blessings coming....
I know there is power in the prayers of children...Thank you for teaching your children to pray. I know there are miracles for those who Love the Lord and serve Him.....
I would Do anything for my children and grandchildren.....ANYTHING for any of you...that is why we are serving a mission...to call down the blessings of Heaven upon each of you.....
I love you so so much....
Thank you for your love and your support...For your faithfulness, for your unwearyingness in serving The Lord and for your service to each other......
I survived speaking in Conference tonight it was a wonderful experience...Tomorrow we will get a new Patriarch....
