The following is an e-mail conversation started by the naughty willing-to-wager Dalynn. We all made our best bets of where the parents would be serving this mission. Nobody even came close!! Here’s what was predicted….
“Well Family, Mom and Dad officially turned in their mission papers last night! Anyone willing to go in on a little wager for where they are going? I am willing to bet dinner on the winner of who guesses right…or closest. Send me your guesses and let’s see whose guess is the closest. Mom and Dad you can send in your guesses as well. “ (Dalynn)
“I guess somewhere in Pennsylvania.” (Dean)
“So cool. How long does is the turn-around time for senior couples, anyone know? I know the assignments are made on Friday morning's. Perhaps the assignment will be made tomorrow? I'm guessing Latin America Somewhere... I'll go with a geographically central country... say Bolivia.” (Dave)

“My Guess is Africa.... then Austria.....then Thailand! -Maid” (Darla)

“So, I want to hear where mom and dad think they will be going? Let's hear it mom and dad. Rock Springs Wyoming? Outer Mongolia? Where?” (Dave)

“My guess is somewhere in the states....at a church history site...not sure which one, but for sure east of Utah!! Illinois, Missouri, New York??” (Miriam)
“England. So is everyone coming to K Falls to take me to dinner when I win?” (Heidi)

“I am biased I will guess Argentina, either on their massive church farm in Las Pampas, or in Buenos Aires as the church center helping family history. I also agree with Mel who I think is going to win, Florida Church farm by Disney world! Dave... I know that you can tap into their account and find out quite a while before anyone else, I will take you out to dinner if you hack into the network!” (Fodie)
“Dear Family, How fun to read of all your input as to where mom and I will be going. To answer David's question about how long the turn around time for senior missionaries, we've been told the call will come between 2 to 4 weeks from the time that it was submitted and then about a 60-90 day from the call to the time we leave. We're just as excited as we can be to be going and look for where ever we will be assigned to work. Love Dad” (Sam)
“Hey pop, You never answered the question, where do you and Mom think your going? ;-) You are going to Spain!! but if by some mistake, my second guess would be Ireland. Darla and Darin are cheaters, Africa is not a country... But they are not going there anyway;-)” (Devin)
“I don't remember my oh so encouraging statement to David 17ish years ago, but you can count on me to give a good Laugh if it reads Cove Fort visitor center! I'm going for an English speaking country in Europe, since Heidi picked England and Devin-the cheater-picked Spain AND Ireland, I better go for Scotland! Of all the Guesses I think I like Mels best though.” (Dallon)
“I agree, I like Mel’s the best! I didn’t even know they had such a thing. I feel like I need to do a little more research before I give my guess. If the call is to Cove Fort, I really think you should consider not going…I wouldn’t be able to visit Cove Fort!” (Dalynn)
“This is a true statement by Ninn, I was with her the last time she was visiting Cove Fort. It was a terrible event, she was in so much pain, those nice visitor center missionaries were touching her and they didn’t even know it..... It was actually kind of fun to watch!” (Fodie)

“Well my guess originally was a Church History Site, Nauvoo or Palmyra. Mom said that these are highly sought after spots so there is NOT a very high likely hood. So my official guess is….Fiji.” (Dalynn)
“I was going to say state side (eastern), but I think I will change it to south America why not Paraguay for first choice then state side;) I might change my mind later in the week:)” (Devarie)
