“We need thousands of more couples serving in the missions of the Church. Every mission president pleads for them. They…can leave the grandchildren. Those little darlings will be just fine, and I promise you will do things for them in the service of the Lord that, worlds without end, you could never do if you stayed home to hover over them. What greater gift could grandparents give their posterity than to say by deed as well as word, “In this family we serve missions!”

Martyrs' Hill


                                                       One street over and up the hill from us.........

                                                       It seems to be in a random place in the city.
                                The whole thing seem  really sad to me when I realized their ages.

Seems there has been fighting here for so long.  We recently learned that the name of the city, Gjakova means blood....from all the battles and fighting there.




  This means Martyr of the Nation  
 and is on each tomb stone.



                                              Besim means faith (most of their names have meaning)



                                      This is the tomb of their beloved President Ibrahim Rugova
                                                           it is at the top of the Park
                                      the flags are Kosovo, Presidential flag and Albanian Flag
                                                                         


                            We met this little family on their way home after a walk through the park.
